This quilt has twenty 12” blocks, the patterns and block names taken from “Victory Quilts, 1940’s Sampler Quilts” by Eleanor Burns. Blocks include Airplane, Scotty dog, Bride’s bouquet, and Hope of Hartford. Bordered in dark blue, sashed in navy with gold stars and quilted with stars and ribbons in gold, this is a special quilt for your special veteran. Designed, machine pieced and machine quilted by members of Mothertown Quilters Guild, based in Lancaster, Massachusetts. Quilt has a sleeve so it can be used on a bed, hung on a wall or draped on the back of a couch.  Machine wash and dry.

Proceeds realized from the sale of this quilt will help the guild sponsored outreach projects such as “Quilts of Valor”, quilts for Veteran’s in the shelter on Grove Street, Worcester, MA, and quilts for new and very ill and needy babies at Leominster Hospital, .

There are two labels on the back of this quilt.  The first one is a picture of the quilt explaining the name and story behind each of the 20 blocks.

The second label  is a replica of a blue star banner with the wording:

The blue star banner was designed and patented in 1917 by WW II Army Capt. Robert L. Queisser and became the unofficial symbol for parents with a child in active military service. It is still in use to this day.
